Quang Tri is associated with the resistance war against the American imperialists of the Vietnamese people. This place is associated with the event of dividing the two regions of North and South Vietnam in 1954 and the 81-day and night battle to protect Quang Tri citadel by the Vietnamese army and people in 1972.

When mentioning Quang Tri, every Vietnamese person imagines the following relics: Truong Son Martyrs' Cemetery, Quang Tri Citadel and Ben Hai River - Hien Luong Bridge. These are considered to be frequently visited addresses, especially on major holidays in Vietnam.

Truong Son Martyrs' Cemetery
Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery is the largest martyrs' cemetery in Vietnam, where 10,263 graves of martyrs who sacrificed their lives on the Truong Son battlefield are gathered. Built from February 1975 and completed in April 1977, the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery is divided into 10 areas according to the localities where the martyrs were born.
A few words about the Truong Son Road battlefield:

- Total length of the entire route: 20,000 km of road
- 600 km of river, 1,400 km of oil and gas pipeline, 1,500 km of communication lines.

Quang Tri Citadel
Quang Tri Citadel is a special national monument of Vietnam with an area of ​​nearly 300,000m2. During 81 days and nights, this place became a bloody battlefield, each square meter of land suffered thousands of artillery shells. The total force of the Vietnamese army and people participating in the battle was about 14,000 troops, while the US imperialists mobilized about 35,000 troops. During the 81 days and nights of defending Quang Tri Citadel, Vietnam had about 4,000 martyrs. Also during the campaign, the town and Quang Tri Citadel had to endure 328,000 tons of bombs and ammunition, equivalent to 7 atomic bombs that the US dropped on Hiroshima, Japan in 1945.

Ben Hai River and Hien Luong Bridge
After the Geneva Agreement was signed (July 20, 1954), Vietnam was temporarily divided into two regions, the 17th parallel (Ben Hai River) as the boundary, to wait until July 1956 to hold a general election to unify the country. But with the events caused by the sabotage of the US imperialists and their henchmen, it took Vietnam 21 years with the historic victory of April 30, 1975 to liberate the South and unify the country.
Ben Hai River and Hien Luong Bridge at this time became symbols of the desire to unify Vietnam.

Vinh Moc Tunnels

Located about 6km from Cua Tung town (Vinh Linh, Quang Tri), Vinh Moc Tunnels are considered an immortal legend similar to Cu Chi Tunnels. The tunnels were built by the army and people of Vinh Linh district in the years 1965-1967 on a red basalt hill overlooking the sea. The entire construction area covers an area of ​​about 7 hectares. This is one of 114 large and small tunnels dug throughout Vinh Linh district with a total length of nearly 42km. The tunnel system consists of 3 interconnected floors, the first floor is 12m deep from the ground, where the government headquarters and military units are located. The second floor, 15m above ground, is where the villagers live.
During the years of resistance against the American imperialists, Vinh Linh land endured a huge amount of bombs and bullets. During the period 1964-1972, Vinh Linh suffered more than half a million tons of bombs and bullets, on average, each Vinh Linh resident had to endure 7 tons of bombs and bullets of all kinds.
